There is a story beind this quilt. For the last 30 years, around the middle of the year, we spend 7 nights in Minnesota (7 black stars in the middle of the quilt). We usually see a fantastic full moon coming up over the lake (grey stars) and a million stars in the sky. Well, I couldn’t make a million red stars, so I made 448. We drive 620 miles to get there and on the way, when we see fields and fields of sunflowers (star centers) we know we are almost there. Tell your own story with your quilt. Instead of red, grey and black, pick colors that will contrast well with scrappy star points. Use conversation prints that are meaningful to you for the star centers. Be sure to document your story with a great label on the back.
